What to Expect in Yoga Class
- You will want to wear comfortable, breathable clothes. Any exercise pants or shorts will do but you may want to wear a shirt that is a little bit form- fitting, since in some yoga poses your head is below your hips and your shirt can slide down.
- Yoga is typically done barefoot. Socks are fine to wear if you feel more comfortable doing so. Please remove your shoes before entering the Serenity Room.
- Yoga is practiced on a mat. If you don’t have a mat or forget yours at home, The Wellness Spa has a few extras available. Some people prefer to use two mats or purchase a thicker mat to increase their comfort in class.
- Stay hydrated. Bring your own water bottle and take a drink whenever you desire during class.
- Expect to see students of all ages, sizes, and levels of fitness. Do not avoid yoga class just because you think you aren't flexible. The point of yoga is not to show off how flexible you are, but rather to become more flexible over time while enjoying yoga's health benefits.
- Let go of any judgment, competition or expectations. Simply breathe, feel and embrace the present moment.
